Part of the Mayan Garden Series of two-sided tapestry “veils,” exploring the properties of the jungles of Belize.
This veil’s one side shows Santiago saying prayers to the Chebli vine. When I caught up with him in the jungle he was whispering to the vine. Later I would learn it was the 12 prayers asking the vine to heal me. This is part of a snake bite cure; it pulls out toxins. And the second side – showing my mind has returned! Like clouds dissipating my mind was back. Standing between the Cotton Tree Lodge in and the maintenance building, sulfur butterflies covered my body in blessing. I had my memory back.
