Painted using Spanish moss and ferns, creating subtle, emerging forms.
Side one: Xchel in disguise. The goddess is still here, Xchel is the virgin Mary on Isla Mujeres off the coast of Mexico a place of pilgrimage for women in the ancient Mayan world. Pilgrims would come from as far away as present day Honduras to seek the wisdom and blessings of this goddess.
Side two: Asherah. This is the goddess who stood by the god named by the Canaanites El who preceded our concept of the supreme being. The concept of one supreme being is overwhelming male but she also has many names in many cultures.
