Artist Biography

Many of my artworks are large ecological sculptures and site installations for clients like Harvard University and the Peabody Essex Museum, many of which have an ecological function like my 100-foot serpents that absorbed and digested pollutants using archaea, the most ancient form of life. There I was looking outward to the world; here I am looking inward to the world between dreams and reality. I create two-sided tapestries I call veils. Using paints that reflect light and paint that emits light as well as dichromic paint that changes color as you change position. I find in the blank fabric faces and figures that I explore that are both personal and universal. I use brushes and Spanish moss that hangs from the trees above me to paint. I make invisible prints with ferns that reveal themselves. Enjoy both sides in daylight and total darkness, as these are your dreams as well.
